SproutTalk Privacy Policy
Effective Date: 10/19/2025
Last Updated: 10/19/2025
SproutTalk is an educational Android application specifically designed to support children with autism spectrum disorders through structured learning interventions. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in our app.
Information We Do NOT Collect
We prioritize your child’s privacy and safety. This app does NOT collect, store, or transmit any personal information whatsoever. We do NOT collect: personal identifying information (names, ages, addresses), contact information (emails, phone numbers), location data, device identifiers, photos, videos, audio, browsing history, app usage data, network activity, biometric or health information.
All app functionality operates entirely on your device. Game progress, learning statistics, user preferences are only stored locally using Android SharedPreferences — never online. Data remains exclusively on your device, is automatically deleted if you uninstall, and can be manually reset within the app.
This app operates completely offline. No internet connection is required and no data is ever transmitted to external servers. There are no analytics, crash reporting, advertising networks, or tracking. No network activity occurs at any time.
Permissions & Children’s Privacy
SproutTalk only requests minimum necessary permissions: SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW for educational learning overlays (with close button and 6-second auto-dismiss, can be disabled), SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM for learning interval timing (only when device is unlocked), FOREGROUND_SERVICE for maintaining intervals (with visible notification and parent controls), POST_NOTIFICATIONS for informing parents (low-priority, no tracking).
The app is fully compliant with COPPA. No personal information is ever collected from children. There is no advertising, profiling, social functionality, or third-party integration. All content is educational and age-appropriate. Parental rights include reviewing stored progress, resetting data, permission control, and full ability to start or stop the learning service.
Security measures include using Android secure preferences for all data, requesting only essential permissions, and never using external libraries or SDKs with data collection. There are no user accounts, cloud storage, customer support systems, or analytics. Data stays local, always.
Third Parties, Data Retention, and User Rights
SproutTalk uses absolutely NO third-party services that collect data (no Google Analytics, advertising networks, crash reporting, APIs, or cloud services). Everything is self-contained and local.
There is no data retention policy required: all data is local, automatically deleted upon uninstall, and can be reset anytime by a parent. Your rights: view progress, delete all data, control all permissions, and access this full transparency. Contact us with any concern; we support prompt, clear responses.
If we update this policy for legal/compliance changes or new privacy-respecting features, we’ll notify you via updated dates, in-app notice, or our developer page. International users: the app is designed for GDPR, COPPA, PIPEDA, and global child privacy law compliance. No personal data is ever processed or sent anywhere.
